Wakefield, MA, January 20, 2015 – The leading international organization for the search and digital marketing profession, the Search Engine Marketing Professionals Organization (SEMPO), announced today that Dave Tan, Head of Performance Media Agency Development at Google, Inc., has joined the SEMPO Board of Directors.
The SEMPO Board of Directors is responsible for guiding the organization’s overall strategies to fulfill its mission. SEMPO’s mission is to provide a foundation for industry growth through building stronger relationships, fostering awareness, providing education, promoting the industry, generating research, and creating a better understanding of search and its role in marketing.
Tan’s appointment to the SEMPO Board of Directors is the industry veteran’s latest accomplishment in an illustrious 19-year career in digital marketing. His experience includes senior positions with Resolution Media (OMC), Navteq-Nokia, Chicago Tribune Interactive, and Shure, Inc.
“Dave Tan will be a great addition to the SEMPO board,” said Michael Gullakson, President of the SEMPO Board of Directors. “His knowledge of the industry, as well his connections to both search engine marketing experts and the search engines themselves bode well for the future of SEMPO. I expect great things to come from having Dave on the SEMPO board.”
Gullakson went on to say that Tan has worked in different capacities with many of the other SEMPO Board of Directors members. Gullakson said that many aspire to be on the SEMPO board and work hard to achieve that goal. Dave Tan is a great example.
