Verizon becomes newest sponsor ofSearch Engine Marketing Professional Organization (SEMPO)

Palo Alto, CA, May 14, 2004 - The Search Engine Marketing Professional Organization (SEMPO) today announced that Verizon has agreed to become a sponsor of the new industry association.

Verizon is the Internet's number one online yellow pages directory and a leading shopping resource that serves more than 16 million monthly online visitors. With more than 17 million U.S. businesses listed and over 100,000 advertisers, links buyers and sellers in a rich online environment.

Verizon joins other leading players in the world of search engine marketing as a SEMPO sponsor. This includes Overture Services, Google, Jupitermedia Corporation, and GO TOAST. Together, SEMPO sponsors support the organization's mission and provide the necessary funds to conduct primary research and develop education materials for the industry.
