It goes without saying — but I will say it anyway just in case there is any lingering doubt — that all businesses, regardless of their sector or size, should be leveraging these strategies and tactics (to varying degrees). After all, a website without enough visitors is not a profitable asset: it is a costly liability.
However, there are some lesser known — but nevertheless highly effective — ways to boost traffic that should also be part of your strategic mix; especially since they are practical and affordable vs. complex and expensive. Here is a rundown of six methods that could take your traffic numbers to the next level, and keep them there for the foreseeable future:
Publish Guest Blogs
Guest blogging is when you publish an article on another website that includes a link back to yours. In addition to potentially pulling traffic directly from the publishing website, backlinks are part of the off-site SEO profile that search engines evaluate when they rank sites. In other words: if two websites have exactly the same SEO score according to Google’s algorithm, the one with more quality backlinks will get ranked higher.
However, to make guest blogging work, it cannot be a “spray and pray” proposition.
