Education Committee

Description

This committee is responsible for editing and overseeing the resources published on the SEMPO website - http://www.sempo.org/learning_center/. This group assists in the coordination of SEMPO's educational webinar series by determining topics and securing presenters, and providing content review for each session. They are also involved in other outreach/educational programs, provide learning materials for events and other websites, and help to find new content for www.sempo.org that will support SEMPO's overall mission.

This committee is responsible for the creation of the SEMPO Institute and works closely with the task force that was created to bring the concept to reality. Please see the SEMPO Institute Task Force (below) for further information.

NOW BOOKING SEMPO WEBINARS FOR 2010!

If you’ve always dreamed of being a SEMPO star leading one of our esteemed educational webinars, the Education Committee would love to hear your pitches for our 2010 calendar. Here’s how to participate:

1.       Review the past topics we’ve covered: http://www.sempo.org/learning_center/webinars (while we do occasionally repeat a topic from one year to the next, we do try to put a new angle on it to keep our webinars fresh and relevant)

2.       Read our general guidelines for the Learning Center: http://www.sempo.org/learning_center/guidelines

3.       Craft a pitch that you think will really appeal to our members and the general public – highly tactical sessions often draw a big crowd, as do hot topics such as Jobs and Emerging Technology.

4.       Send your ideas and your speaker profile/cred to: dreeve@webvisible.com

5.       We’ll notify you if we’ve selected your idea, and work with you to schedule it. Our webinars are typically on the last Thursday of the month.

And, if you’d like to submit yourself for our Speaker’s Bureau, please fill out the form linked from the bottom of this page: http://www.sempo.org/learning_center/speakers_bureau/ (must log into your SEMPO account to submit)
