The Search Engine Marketing Professional Organization (SEMPO) Opens Nominations for Its Board of Director Elections

Wakefield, MA, January 12, 2007 - The Search Engine Marketing Professional Organization (SEMPO) (, has opened nominations for its 2007-2008 Board of Directors. Nominations mark the beginning of the board election process which will be completed in March 2007.

All current SEMPO members are eligible to nominate members for a board position. Members may also nominate themselves. Nominations are open through Thursday, January 18, 5:00 PM Eastern Time. Nominations are accepted via email (member login is required on the SEMPO).

Key dates for the SEMPO Board of Director Elections are:

  • January 8th through 18th, nominations for board candidates are accepted
  • January 25th all confirmed nominees will be announced and their bios will be posted on the SEMPO web site
  • February 6 through 16, voting is open to all SEMPO members
  • Late February election results for the board are announced
  • Early March the newly elected board begin their term
  • Mid-march, the Board elects officers for the 2007-2008 year

"Going into our fourth Board of Directors, I'm looking forward to witnessing how a new generation of leaders will bring their visions to SEMPO and the search marketing industry," said Dana Todd, President of SEMPO. "We hope to see some exciting new faces nominated and we expect several Board alumni to be running as well. Having served on the Board for three consecutive terms, I can say it's been one of the most rewarding experiences of my career."

SEMPO Chairperson Gord Hotchkiss said, "The current Board has made significant progress this year with key initiatives, including the launch of the SEMPO Training Institute, plus an expansion of our market research efforts. We expect our incoming Board will help us achieve more of SEMPO's globalization goals."
