SEMPO Announces the Results of its Board of Director Elections

The New SEMPO Board of Directors is comprised of thirteen individuals that represent all segments of search engine marketing worldwide.

Palo Alto, California. March 1, 2005 - The Search Engine Marketing Professional Organization (SEMPO), a non-profit professional association working to increase awareness of and promote the value of Search Engine Marketing (SEM) worldwide, announced the results of its first member-wide elections for the SEMPO Board of Directors.

The elections for 13 Board seats resulted in representation from North America, Japan and Europe as well as from varying sizes of companies. SEMPO members provided nominations for board directors and all member companies and individuals were given the opportunity to vote earlier this month.

The Newly elected SEMPO Board of Directors includes:

  • Ron Belanger, Carat Interactive;
  • Chris Churchill, Fathom Online;
  • Barbara Coll, CEO, Webmama.com;
  • Koichiro Fukasawa, Wasabi Communications;
  • Gordon Hotchkiss, Enquiro;
  • Kevin Lee, Did-it.com;
  • Mauro Lupi,Ad Maiora SpA;
  • Jeffrey Pruitt, iCrossing;
  • John Sanchez, Zunch Communications;
  • Jessie Stricchiola, Alchemist Media;
  • Julienne Thompson, Advertising.com;
  • Dana Todd, SiteLab;
  • David Williams, 360i

Five incumbent board members were reelected including Barbara Coll, Kevin Lee, Dana Todd, Mauro Lupi and Jessie Stricchiola along with eight first-time Board members. The 13 member Board will serve a one-year term. The new Board will take the reigns by March 31 and will elect officers at their first meeting.

"Our newly elected members have skills in marketing, accounting, business development, operations and nonprofit leadership. In addition they represent our membership mix from the largest SEO agencies down to individual consultants," said current SEMPO Vice President Dana Todd.
