Local Marketing and Search Experts to Headline First Ever SEMPO Boston MeetingNew Boston professional group seeks to bring together marketing and search professionalsBoston, MA – September 5, 2008 – The Boston chapter of the Search Engine Marketing Professionals Organization (SEMPO) is holding its first meeting for search and marketing professionals in the greater Boston Area September 24, 2008 at Bentley College, Waltham, MA from 6:30 to 9:00 PM. Local search and marketing experts headline the panel discussion, “No More Silos: Search and Marketing Must Sit at the Same Table.” During this interactive discussion, search and marketing professionals will learn how to break down the walls or silos between the “technical” and “marketing” sides of search marketing in order to learn that they are in fact working toward the same end – to improve a company’s bottom line. “We would like both technical search experts and marketers to begin looking at search marketing from each other’s perspective,” says Katie Donovan, Business Development Manager for the SEMPO Institute and the panel moderator. “We’d like to see both groups strengthen their relationship with each other as they are truly dependent on each other. By attending this event, search professionals will gain an insight of the marketing concerns and challenges their customers might not be sharing with them as well as how to view search from a Marketing VP’s perspective. General marketers, including those in marketing communications, PR, and corporate communications, on the other hand, will discover how search can be incorporated into current marketing programs – boosting not only search engine rankings but campaign results.” Panel members include Jim Griffeth, President of Boston SEO firm Stratimind, Craig Blake, VP Sales for W.A. Wilde and Past President of the New England Direct Marketing Association, and Myles Bristowe, Founder of VividContext and President of the Boston American Marketing Association. Katie Donovan will moderate the panel discussion.
