The Director, Delivery Management serves as a key leader on iCrossing accounts and within the organization. The Director acts as program manager on one or two large client accounts or on several small-to-medium client accounts. In this role, the Director is responsible for the effective management of all projects, the efficient use of resources, and the consistent delivery of high-quality client deliverables. The Director is also responsible for the financial performance of his or her accounts and is responsible for hitting specific gross margin targets.

The Director, Delivery Management may manage one or more Project Management resources, overseeing the development of direct reports and coaching their success. The Director is a highly skilled communicator able to build internal and client relationships and guide teams to success.


Major Job Responsibilities / Accountabilities:

· Accountable for the gross profit, client satisfaction, and employee satisfaction of large client engagements or a suite of several client engagements:

· Oversees engagement teams ensuring efficient utilization of resources allocated to engagement

· Ensures the successful and profitable completion of many concurrent projects

· Acts as point of escalation internally and with the client for all delivery issues related to the engagement

· Reports on engagement status and health to Delivery Management Practice Lead

· Estimates projects with input of discipline leads:

· Creates schedule and staffing plan to support deliverable objectives

· Documents scope and deliverable objectives

· Determines and communicates project gross profit including expected revenue, labor cost, and other direct costs.

· Obtains proper internal approval of client contracts

· Assists Client Services and Business Development in contract negotiation

· Oversees multiple projects and ensures they are delivered on time and on budget

· Performs ongoing gross profit management by maintaining estimate at complete of hours, revenue and costs

· Negotiates and controls project scope to ensure project profitability

· Advises clients and team on project developments and any implications related to project

· Acts as point of escalation of issues and project developments for both the team and client

· Resolves project issues independently and communicates alternatives to team and client

· Ensures approaches/solutions are consistent with client/project objectives

· Performs ongoing risk management assessment on engagement

· Sets and manages expectations for scope and quality through effective communication

· Leads cross-discipline team to deliver solutions successfully

· Leads both team and client communication activities including weekly status meetings and reporting

· Facilitates effective communication on projects and engagements

· Supports Business Development function as needed

· Helps to identify additional account development opportunities within current and potential clients

· Accelerates additional work with clients. Once an opportunity is identified, quickly scopes and facilitates new project starts

· Takes pursuit lead responsibility for large proposals, RFP responses, and presentations

· Manages and develops Project Management team members

· Manages Project Management resources from the junior to senior level

· Nurtures and develops skills in direct reports; provides career path guidance

· Provides constructive feedback and coaching to direct reports on an ongoing basis

· Partners with Human Resources to ensure relevant and attainable goals are on file for each direct report

· Participates in internal review cycles, providing comprehensive, actionable feedback and establishing plans for gaps in performance

· Participates in recruiting and hiring activities

· Acts as a role model for direct reports and other Delivery Management resources

Experience

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:

· Bachelors degree or equivalent work experience; an advanced degree is preferred

· 7 to 10 years of project/program management experience (preferably 3-5 years within an interactive advertising or marketing agency environment)

· PMP certification or equivalent experience and training

· Acts as a leader within the Delivery Management capability and a leader on all engagements

· Delivers internal training or brown bag sessions

· Participates in Discipline and/or service offering initiatives

· Has a keen intellect and superior analytic skills

· A team player that understands how to work effectively in a fast paced, evolving organization

· Bright, conceptual and a quick learner able to quickly assess a situation and generate new insights and usable ideas

· Takes personal responsibility for individual development and approaches every situation as an opportunity to learn

· Organized and detail oriented. Excellent follow-up and follow-through

· Possesses excellent inter-personal, communication and presentation skills

· Excellent conflict resolution skills; escalates issues appropriately
