Job Description

The Director of Sales is responsible for overseeing and managing all sales efforts for Apogee Search. We want a creative, organized executor to define innovative ways to educate marketing decision makers and buyers about Apogee Search's services. You will develop and manage sales processes and mentor the sales team. This is a great opportunity for anyone with aspirations of growing into an executive level sales management role.

Duties may include any of the following:

  • Developing and leading the execution of a comprehensive sales strategy
  • Creating and implementing sales forecasts, budgets, and plans for growth, and reporting on progress
  • Owning all aspects of the sales process, from prospecting, to qualifying, to presenting, to follow-up, to negotiation, to closing, and to handling the contract
  • Performing some on-going customer relationship management
  • Hiring, supervising, and mentoring sales staff as needed, and creating a more efficient organizational structure
  • Meeting or exceeding predefined new account acquisition and profitability goals

Experience

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have the following attributes: insider knowledge of paid search management and SEO strategies, extensive working knowledge of display advertising, affiliate marketing, email marketing, media buying, and conversion best practices, and an understanding of the major technical aspects of various marketing campaigns.

Specific qualifications include:

  • College education (BA in Business, Communications, Liberal Arts, Plan II or other honors preferred)
  • 8-10 years experience in sales team management
  • 3-5 years experience selling advertising and/or interactive marketing services
  • Experience using Salesforce.com a must
  • Familiarity with website analytics and tracking tools a plus
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor and develop sales professionals
  • Proven cross-functional team player. Able to work within the trees of sales as well as the forest of the company
  • Strong desire to learn new technology and advocate for technology improvements in company processes
  • Ability to travel regularly, including attendance of several industry tradeshows throughout the year
  • Excellent phone and written communications skills
  • Professional attitude and demeanor
