Event Description:
Companies are cashing in on recent changes in media. Search retargeting and social advertising provides a means to reach people at different stages of the cycle, enhances engagement, and increases the likelihood of purchase. This panel will discuss the most important emerging tactics in the context of how it fits into the overall marketing mix and if applicable how it impacts or relates to search marketing. We will cover the theory behind best practices, as well as how they help to ultimately drive sales (whether directly or indirectly).

Speaker Bios:

John Szumowski is the Sales Director for the southeast territory for Chango, and is responsible for all revenue and relationships on the Chango platform. John is an energetic and accomplished sales professional with 20+ years experience within the digital media, consulting and telecommunications industries. Most recently, John was with Specific Media where he built and managed the Southeast region over a five year period. Before joining Specific Media, John successfully managed business within the mid market segment at AOL. A native of Maine, John attended the University of Southern Maine. He is a member of the Atlanta Interactive Marketing Association (AiMA), Atlanta Marketing Association (AMA) and several philanthropic organizations. An avid golfer and sports fan, he enjoys spending time with his family watching The Ohio State Buckeyes and any Boston professional team. On most weekends, John can be found on the course.John resides in Atlanta with his wife Katie, an executive at Vonage; Megan, a student at the University of Alabama and Grant, a senior in high school. Glen Caruso is an established entrepreneur and expert in the digital and social marketing arena. Prior to BLiNQ, Glen co-founded Firecracker Digital Group in 2008. The company quickly became the largest digital advertising sales representation firm in the United States, representing a range of cutting-edge digital and social media properties including BLiNQ Media,,, eHarmony, AdGroups, OfficeArrow. Firecracker Digital Group was acquired by BLiNQ Media in 2011, further bolstering the combined companies’ ability to serve customers with high-performance campaign management solutions.Glen has been instrumental in creating successful integrated marketing partnerships with leading brands such as Verizon Wireless, Coca-Cola, AT&T, FedEx, and The Home Depot, as well as with many leading agencies and media companies, including J. Walter Thompson/NY, Turner Broadcasting, The Weather Channel,, Yahoo!, AOL-Time Warner, and Microsoft/MSN.At this time, Glen is an angel investor and is in the process of launching a new technology company called The Digital Curators, a subsidiary of Firecracker Digital Ventures, LLC.Glen is the past president of the American Marketing Association Atlanta chapter as well as a former standup comedian. He’s a sought-after public speaker on digital and traditional marketing. He resides in Atlanta, Georgia with his greatest loves, his wife and four daughters.

Ashley Wells is a Media Supervisor at 22squared in Atlanta, specializing in developing and implementing cross-platform, fully integrated campaigns. Current client work includes the Costa Rica Tourism Board and American Standard Brands. A Georgia Tech grad, Ashley leverages her long relationship with math and science with the art and design pivotal to creating award-winning media campaigns, such as the Gold Effie-winning Million Dollar Gift of Happiness campaign developed for the Costa Rica Tourism Board. Previous client work includes Florida's Natural, Lincoln Financial, Food Lion Grocery, and Mitsubishi Electric HVAC. She also currently serves as President-Elect of the Atlanta Ad Club.
