This month, Atlanta SEMPO will be tackling a vital element of search marketing; consulting and strategic advising. Learning to be a better consultant or strategic adviser is a challenge that most of us face on a regular basis, whether we are inside a company or with an agency. We are in a fast-paced industry, where the fundamentals of what we do are changed frequently and companies look to us for guidance and direction. This session will be jam packed with tips to improve your consulting skills and maximize relationships with external agencies. Join us for ideas that you can put to use immediately.

Topher Kohan is the Associate Director of Search forRockfish, a full-service digital innovation partner that drives business for some of the world’s largest brands. He was previously the in-house SEO coordinator for CNN’s digital news properties (including CNN International,, CNN Mexico and iReport), where he oversaw a 17% increase in traffic from search year-over-year and oversaw one of the single largest search traffic days in the site’s history with the 2008 presidential election. Topher previously worked at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

Brian Ussery is a technical organic search marketing consultant and leading authority on SEO related issues. Brian is a "Top Contributor" in the Google Webmaster Help Forum and a trusted Google partner, who connects regularly to stay in-the-know about new and improved product features.

In addition to his own blog, Brian frequently live blogs major industry events and his work has been cited by various media outlets including; The New York Times, Wired, CNET, Gizmodo, InformationWeek, Marketing Sherpa, Valleywag, AdAge, Blogoscoped, SEOBook, Search Engine Watch, Search Engine Land, SERoundtable and others.

Away from work, Brian is a University of Georgia, Officially Licensed Collegiate Artist and Officially Licensed Collegiate Product Manufacturer. He is authorized by Nike as well as the Collegiate Licensing Company consortium which consists of more than 200 colleges and universities, bowl games, conferences, the NCAA, Final Four, College World Series and Heisman Trophy Award.
