Speaker Bios

 

David Lee - Former Managing Partner of SV Angel, an angel fund with investments in companies such as Twitter, Foursquare, Flipboard, Dropbox, and Airbnb.
Prior to SV Angel, David was at Baseline Ventures, a leading seed-stage venture firm. He was a founding member of Google's New Business Development team and led business development at StumbleUpon prior to its sale to eBay. He also was a corporate attorney at leading technology law firms. David has an M.Sc. in Electrical Engineering from Stanford, where he was a National Science Foundation graduate fellow; a J.D. from NYU; and a B.A. from Johns Hopkins. He currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Lucile Packard Foundation for Children's Health.

Want to know what its like to scale companies like Airbnb, Pinterest, Twitter and Dropbox?  David Lee is a prominent angel investor that has seen all these successful companies grow from the ground up!  What characteristics do they have, what pitfalls did they endure, what does it take to scale, scale, scale?!  David will be sharing the patterns he sees in “unicorns” and the commonalities they all share. 


Douglas Montgomery - VP of Global Category Management at Warnerbros. Doug has been in the position for 10 years, previously working at Walmart and Newell Rubbermaid. He has an MBA – IBEAR – from the University of Southern California, and an Undergraduate degree Business from the University of Alberta. Also a board member of the Japan America Society of Southern California, Doug was chair of the last three Anniversary Dinners, culminating in 2015 honoring honoring Honda and Takuma Sato (Indy Car champion). Together with his family, Doug has lived in the US, Canada, Japan and the UK, presently settled down in Torrance California.

Blair Dore - Blair Dore leads Brand Product Solutions in North America for Google and is responsible for developing and implementing go-to-market strategy for Google’s made for brand products.  Prior to this role, Blair worked inside Google’s Agency team, partnering with the world’s largest media and creative agencies to develop best in class executions on Google’s platforms. Prior to joining Google, Blair was an account executive at magazine publisher Time Inc.  The co-author of “Lean Communications”, the Columbia Business School Caseworks case study “Time Inc.”,  Blair holds a B.A. in English from Amherst College, and an M.B.A from Columbia Business School.
