SEMPO to Host Speed Networking Reception at SES San Jose on Monday, August 18, at 5:30 pm
SEMPO Institute to Lead All-day Training Workshop on Friday, August 22
San Jose, CA, August 14, 2008 - The Search Engine Marketing Professional Organization (SEMPO) today announced its participation in Search Engine Strategies (SES) San Jose, August 18-22, 2008. SEMPO was launched at SES San Jose five years ago, and today has 830 members representing over 2,000 individuals. Over 900 individuals have participated in SEMPO Institute courses.
Monday, August 18, 5:30-6:30 pm: SEMPO will host a Speed Networking Reception that will provide members and non-members alike with the opportunity to meet SEMPO leadership and their search engine marketing colleagues, hear about SEMPO’s research projects and SEMPO Institute’s courses, and learn how to develop and join SEMPO working groups in their area.
Tuesday and Wednesday, August 19-20: SEMPO invites SES San Jose attendees to come by their booth (#331) to meet the SEMPO team and continue the discussions from the Monday night reception.
Thursday, August 21, 2:45-3:45 pm: Katie Donovan, Business Development Manager for the SEMPO Institute, and Ken Clark, Executive Vice President and co-Founder of SEMPO partner Onward Search, will take part in a panel entitled "Searching for Jobs in Search.” The panel will be moderated by Dana Todd, Chief Marketing Officer for Newsforce, Inc. and Chairperson of the Board for SEMPO.
Friday, August 22, 8 am-5 pm: SEMPO Institute will conduct a two-part, full-day training workshop entitled "Successful SEO: The Essential Elements.” Instructors include Rob Garner, Strategy Director for iCrossing, Terry Plank, SEMPO Institute Curriculum Dean, and Jorie Waterman, Senior Program Manager of Microsoft’s adCenter. The workshop is geared towards webmasters, website managers and owners, copywriters, media buyers, sales manager, and others who want to understand the total scope of SEO for developing a website marketing strategy.
