Search Engine Marketing Professional Organization (SEMPO) Adds New Board Member, Mauro Lupi, President of Ad Maiora
Lupi also to chair SEMPO European Committee
Palo Alto, CA, June 23, 2004 - The Search Engine Marketing Professional Organization (SEMPO) today announced that Mauro Lupi has been added to its Board of Directors. The non-profit association also appointed Lupi to the newly created position of Chairman of SEMPO Europe. Additionally, the organization named seven international search engine marketing executives members of its new SEMPO European Committee.
The Search Engine Marketing Professional Organization is a non-profit, professional association working to increase awareness and promote the value of Search Engine Marketing worldwide. The organization represents the common interests of more than 230 companies and consultants worldwide, providing them with a voice in the marketplace.
SEMPO exists to fill the gaps in awareness and understanding of SEM, including educating marketing managers worldwide about what SEM is and how properly implemented SEM programs can provide some of the highest returns on investment possible in the marketing world today.
Mauro Lupi is founder and President of Ad Maiora, an Internet marketing and advertising company. Ad Maiora is the Italian leader in search engine marketing services. With its headquarters in Rome, the company also has branches in Milan and San Francisco.
The European SEMPO Committee members currently include:

The total number of users in Europe is larger than that of the US and Canada. Since the web market is at a critical point in its growth, this is the best moment to create a European SEMPO Committee in Europe."
According to US Bancorp Piper Jaffray, some of the biggest international online markets outside the United States currently are: Germany, the United Kingdom, France, Italy and Spain. Search volume is expected to grow at a compounded annual rate of five to ten percent in the US, and at about twenty percent internationally. US Bancorp Piper Jaffray projects Europe will increasingly gain significance.
