Wednesday, April 17th
Check out the presentation:
Event Description:
Effective search engine marketing is an artful combination of skill, instinct, hard work and the right set of tools. Selecting the tools will improve your results, but to beat the competition consistently using the right tools more effectively will un-level the playing field in your favor.
Three experts will share insights into the tools and techniques that have achieved exceptional results. Our presenters are Brian Easter, CEO of Nebo Agency, Scott Nickels, Home Depot Senior Manager SEO and Ashley Sasnett, VP, Social Media Marketing Strategist at SunTrust Bank.
Brian Easter is the CEO of Nebo, an Atlanta-based digital marketing agency that was selected as a finalist in six categories for the 2013 Atlanta Marketer of the Year Awards (AMYs), securing more nominations than any other firm. Scott Nickels manages the overall strategy and direction for The Home Depot’s Search Engine Optimization (SEO) efforts. As Senior Manager, SEO, Scott leads a team overseeing homedepot.com, homedecorators.com, and all other online properties, and brings a wealth of perspective and technical knowledge to search marketing. Ashley Sasnett is the Vice President of Social Media Marketing Strategy at SunTrust Bank. Her work in social media focuses on Brands, social communication, listening, analytics, and content marketing. She enjoys working in a space that empowers users, and frees up Brands to communicate and interact in authentic ways.
SEMPO Atlanta Survey ResultsThank you to those that took our survey last month. We asked what you’d like from us, and you told us!
You asked for Advanced content (78%), followed by Intermediate (50%). We will no longer hold Beginner-oriented events.
Two thirds of you want to continue to meet in the evenings, but
since half of you wish to have lunchtime events, we’re going to try some
of those this year too.
Wednesday was the most desirable day to meet – you got it!
Midtown was the favorite location, followed closely by Buckhead (the
Westside was a distant third). Sorry, OTP folks – you’re going to have
to continue to drive in.
In addition to listening to educational speakers, you want to
network. Several folks suggested a purely social event, so that’s coming
up in February.
Most popular topics were, in order: (1) SEO; (2) search marketing
tools; (3-5)a three-way tie between paid search, social/local/mobile,
and analytics; and (6) landing page testing/conversion
optimization/usability. So that’s what we’ll focus on this year.
Please mark your calendars now – we have selected
the dates for all our meetings in 2013 (location to come). We’ll be
meeting the third Wednesdays of these five months:
- June 19, evening
- September 18, lunch
- November 20, evening
We’re looking forward to an exciting 2013! Remember to subscribe to our mailing list!
